Applying to UBC for 2027: Scholarship and Admission Deadlines Are Different
Plan for UBC’s 2027 intake by distinguishing admission deadlines from award deadlines, nomination steps and supporting forms.
Students planning to enter UBC in 2027 should keep separate checklists for admission and awards. A university application does not complete every scholarship process.
Johnathan Academy has brought together the following dates and practical steps to help families plan ahead.
Match the date to your application
- November 15, 2026: International Scholars Program applicants must submit both their UBC admission application and award application.
- December 1, 2026: Canadian citizens and permanent residents seeking consideration for certain entrance awards need to apply to UBC early and follow each award’s requirements.
- January 15, 2027: The published general undergraduate application deadline for the 2027 Winter Session.
UBC lists these deadlines as 11:59 p.m. PST. Submit ahead of time and retain confirmation. Check UBC’s dates and deadlines.
International Scholars: arrange the nomination early
This program considers eligible international students with strong academics, leadership and significant financial need. It requires a nomination and financial information; it is not automatic consideration for all international applicants.
Complete the admission application first. Arrange a nominator and a separate teacher referee. UBC asks them to submit their forms several days before November 15, because the student cannot complete the award application until those forms are submitted. Domestic awards have different steps
- Presidential Scholars: Complete the admission application and fee payment by December 1, and request award consideration in the Awards section. Details.
- Centennial Scholars: Complete both the admission application and separate Entrance Award application, including applicable supporting forms, by December 1. Details.
- Beyond Tomorrow Scholars: Check the specific eligibility criteria and separate application requirements. Details.
Some awards also accept eligible protected persons in Canada. Consult the individual award page.
Turn the dates into a working plan
Track each task, the person responsible, an earlier target date and the submission confirmation. Include forms completed by parents and referees. After applying, continue monitoring the application portal and email for document requests. Submission does not guarantee an award.
