At Johnathan Academy, a student's program has four parts: the BC curriculum, AP courses, SAT preparation and academic competitions. They are planned together, on one transcript and one university plan.
BC curriculum and the Dogwood Diploma
The full BC Ministry of Education Grade 8–12 curriculum, leading to the B.C. Certificate of Graduation (Dogwood Diploma). The year runs by term: four courses each in fall and winter, two in spring, so students focus on fewer subjects with more contact time. A summer term offers two more courses for credit recovery, improvement or acceleration.
AP: university-level work in high school
- 28+ AP subjects across calculus, physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, economics and more.
- After-school AP credit program aligned with the College Board framework, taught in small classes by BC-certified teachers, 105 hours per course, with tracking of attendance, homework, assessments and exam review. Open to Grades 9–12. Learn more →
