The Fall 2027 university application season is underway. From Canada to Hong Kong, the UK and California, each destination has different systems, requirements and deadlines. Strong preparation starts with thoughtful course choices, consistent learning and personal growth during high school.

Canada: choose the correct application route
- UBC — Apply: use EducationPlannerBC.
- McGill — Application guide: use McGill's own system.
- University of Toronto — Application routes: select the appropriate OUAC route.
- Waterloo — Fall 2027 guide: apply through OUAC and check supplementary requirements.
- SFU — Dates and application information: Fall 2027 high school applications close January 31, 2027.

Hong Kong: apply directly to each university
Students using international qualifications such as a BC high school diploma should review International/Non-JUPAS routes and select the correct local or non-local category.

UK: plan your five UCAS choices
Undergraduate applications generally go through UCAS, with up to five course choices. Choose a coherent academic direction and prepare your personal statement and reference early.

October 15, 2026, 18:00 UK time: the equal consideration deadline for Oxford, Cambridge and most medicine, dentistry and veterinary courses. Most other undergraduate courses have a January 13, 2027, 18:00 UK time equal consideration deadline. Check admissions tests, interviews and portfolios separately.
California: one UC application, multiple campuses
UC Berkeley, UCLA, UC San Diego, UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara and UC Irvine use UC's own application system. Select multiple campuses within one application; each campus reviews applications independently.
Fall 2027 first-year filing period: October 1–November 30, 2026. Leave time to complete and review your application.
First-year applicants answer four of eight Personal Insight Questions. Prepare accurate course records and activities, and explain your experiences thoughtfully. UC does not consider SAT/ACT scores for admission or scholarships.

Grade 12: arrange your official transcripts
Applying is only one step. BC's StudentTranscripts Service (STS) lets students review marks, select recipients and authorize transcript delivery or ongoing updates.
- Have your PEN, legal name, date of birth and regularly used email ready.
- Register or sign in with Basic BCeID, complete STS registration and activate it by email.
- Select institutions, review your transcript and authorize delivery according to each university's requirements.
- Check university applicant portals to confirm receipt.
