2027 Everything You Need to Know About Taking Your 2027 AP Exams at Johnathan Academy

Campus locations, check-in times, what to bring, and which subjects are held where. Read this before your exam day — you will not be admitted without government-issued photo ID.

Welcome to Johnathan Academy as your exam school for the 2027 AP Exams. Please read the following carefully before your exam day.

Before Exam Day

  • Keep your email accurate and monitored. Keep your school registration and My AP contact details accurate, and check all registered primary and alternate email inboxes and spam/junk folders. Staying up to date with AP announcements is the student's responsibility.
  • Know your College Board login credentials. Exam staff cannot provide login support on exam day.
  • Install and test Bluebook in advance. In 2027, on-site written exams use fully digital or hybrid digital Bluebook formats (Art and Design is assessed by portfolio). Install/update Bluebook, try the exam preview, and complete the required exam setup before exam day.
  • Charge your device. You may bring a device that meets College Board requirements. It is your responsibility to ensure it stays powered for the entire exam and bring its charger. Charging stations will be available on site.
  • Check which campus you are at. We send a reminder email before exam day. Confirm whether your exam is at the Main Campus (4th floor) or the Exam Campus.

Important 2027 Exam Changes (Compared with 2026)

Use the current 2027 official materials for your subjects, especially where the exam format has changed:

  • Chinese and French Language and Culture: Now fully digital in Bluebook, including listening and recorded speaking. A wired headset with a microphone is required. A new course project prepares students for the Project Presentation and Project Q&A. All candidates, including exam-only candidates, must prepare the project and submit their PPR as final through AP Digital Portfolio by April 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET (8:59 PM Vancouver time). The 2027 project packet is released in January. Read the official language exam revisions.
  • Statistics: Changes from hybrid to fully digital, with free-response answers entered in Bluebook. Multiple-choice questions increase 40 to 42; free-response questions decrease 6 to 4. Course content has also been revised. Read the Statistics revisions.
  • Calculus AB/BC: Remain hybrid digital. Multiple-choice Part A changes 30 questions/60 minutes to 29 questions/62 minutes; Part B changes 15 questions/45 minutes to 13 questions/38 minutes. Free response remains 6 questions in 90 minutes. Read the official Calculus updates.
  • Physics 1, Physics 2, Physics C: Mechanics, and Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism: Remain hybrid digital. Multiple choice changes 40 questions/80 minutes to 42 questions/85 minutes; the 4-question free-response section changes 100 to 95 minutes. Review your subject in the official course and exam updates.
  • European History, United States History and World History: Modern: Answer all 3 source-based short-answer questions and the single broad long-essay question. The DBQ covers a wider chronological range. Course content, multiple choice and scoring rubrics are unchanged. Read the History exam updates.
  • Music Theory: Changes to hybrid digital testing. Business with Personal Finance and Cybersecurity: New AP subjects with fully digital exams. Read the 2027 exam-mode guide. Fully digital exams require all answers in Bluebook; hybrid exams still require handwritten free-response answers in paper booklets.
  • Art and Design (2-D, 3-D and Drawing): The 2026–27 AI policy allows limited use during preparation, but generative AI must not appear in final submitted artwork, and AI use must be disclosed as required. Read the official AI policy.

Digital Portfolio deadlines: Submit all three CSP Create components and world language PPRs as final by April 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET; submit all three Art and Design portfolio components as final by May 7, 2027, 11:59 PM ET. Both deadlines are 8:59 PM Vancouver time on the same date. Uploading alone does not complete Submit Final. See the official 2027 exam dates and portfolio deadlines.
