Athletics & Sports

Building teamwork, resilience, and healthy habits through competitive and recreational sports.

Basketball

Senior and junior teams train through the fall and winter season, competing against other independent schools in the Lower Mainland. Practices focus on fundamentals, court awareness, and playing as a unit.

Badminton

One of the most popular programs at JA, with singles and doubles play at both recreational and competitive levels. The gym is open for drop-in play several afternoons each week.

Volleyball

Coed teams practise twice weekly and take part in seasonal tournaments. Newcomers are welcome — a significant share of each year's roster picks up the sport for the first time at JA.

Soccer

Outdoor training in the spring and fall at nearby fields, with friendly matches against neighbouring schools. Emphasis is on conditioning, positional play, and sportsmanship.

Swimming

Students train at a nearby community pool with coaching in stroke technique and endurance. The program suits both students working toward competition and those building water confidence.

Sports teams compete at interscholastic and recreational levels. Students of all skill levels are encouraged to participate.
