CCC Chemistry Competition
A one-hour chemistry contest. JA hosts an on-site sitting.
About the CCC Chemistry Competition
The CCC Chemistry Competition is a one-hour chemistry contest for high school students. Rather than testing memorisation, it asks students to apply chemistry concepts to new problems and think through them step by step — the same skills needed in senior chemistry courses and beyond.
Who Should Take It
- Students currently taking high school chemistry, including AP Chemistry, IB Chemistry and A-Level Chemistry
- Students who enjoy chemistry and want a challenge beyond regular classwork
- Students considering chemistry, engineering, medicine or other science programmes at university
Contest Format
- One hour, written on site at JA under supervision
- Based on high school chemistry, such as atomic structure, bonding, stoichiometry, reactions and equilibrium
Why Take It
- A focused way to test and strengthen chemistry problem-solving
- Helpful preparation for AP / IB / A-Level chemistry exams
- A contest result students can include in university applications
