Important Reminder: Daylight Saving Time Begins This Weekend

Dear Johnathan Academy Families and Staff,

We hope this message finds you well. As we continue to navigate through the year, I wanted to send a friendly reminder regarding an upcoming time change that will affect our schedules.

This weekend, on Sunday, March 10th, Vancouver will transition into Daylight Saving Time (DST). As such, we will "spring forward" by setting our clocks ahead by one hour. This change will take place at 2:00 AM on Sunday, so it's advisable to adjust your clocks before going to bed on Saturday night.

Here are a few tips to help ease the transition:

·       Prepare for the time change by adjusting your sleep schedule a few days in advance. Going to bed and waking up 15 minutes earlier each day leading up to the change can make the adjustment smoother.

·       Ensure all manual clocks are set forward one hour. This includes clocks in your home, car, and any other devices that are not automatically updated.

·       Take advantage of the extra daylight in the evenings to enjoy outdoor activities, exercise, or family time. This can help reset your internal clock and improve your overall well-being.

·       Be mindful of the time change when planning any events or activities this weekend and in the days that follow. Punctuality is important, especially as we adjust to the new schedule.

Please note that the school’s operating hours will remain the same, but we encourage everyone to adjust their routines accordingly to ensure a smooth start to their day.

We understand that changing the time can be challenging for some, but with a little preparation, we can all adapt successfully.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. Let’s make this transition as seamless as possible for our students, families, and staff.
